The Porch Light Newsletter

A warm porch with the light on and a small table and rocking chair sitting on the porch beside a door.

Welcome

If you’re new here, hello.

The Porch Light is one part newsletter to update you on the happenings of the blog and my projects, and two parts testimony.

This is a space where I share the smaller things that may not show up in a blog post.

Sometimes, they’re a quiet moment with God.

Sometimes, it’s a thought I had that I couldn’t keep to myself.

Many times, it’s simply the emotional tie behind what I’m about to share that week.

This space is free and open; a place to pause, and to connect.

Alongside it, I’ve begun writing a paid newsletter called Letters from the Dining Room.

This holds the deeper thoughts and emotions of what I’ve written. This is sometimes a letter to God or to the reader about what I’ve struggled with that week, or what I’ve learned from that struggle. It’s a place for the lines of thought that are too much for the blog or the Porch Light.

The first letter is open to everyone. It’s about fear, being seen, and choosing not to stay silent anymore, even when my voice shakes.

You can read it here if you’d like:

The rest of the letters I write from the dining room will live on Substack for paid subscribers.

You never need to join both.

You’re welcome wherever you feel most comfortable standing.

The light’s on in both spaces.

The Porch Light is a free faith-based newsletter rooted in honest storytelling rather than advice or performance. Here you’ll find personal testimony, gentle spiritual reflection, and healing-centred writing for readers navigating faith alongside trauma, grief, motherhood, creativity, and everyday life.
